Krispy Kreme Rewards

If you've a question about Krispy Kreme Rewards, then we've a selection of frequently asked questions below. For all other queries, please contact our Customer Care team.

We plan to relaunch the Rewards programme and an improved app and website once more of our shops are ready to open again. As soon as we know when that’s likely to be, we will let you know via email and through your mobile app.

Friends of Krispy Kreme is going to upgrade to a new and improved Rewards programme, Krispy Kreme Rewards. We can’t say more than that as we don’t want to ruin the surprise, but what it will mean is more of your fave doughnuts and tasty hot treats.

We're rolling out new packaging in the coming weeks to include packaging with unique codes that can be entered on our Rewards app to earn Smiles. The code can be found under the front flap of our boxes and is a code with letters and numbers and not the box barcode. These codes are unique and can only be used once. Please allow at least 15 minutes for Smiles to appear on your account after entering a code.

We have closed the app temporarily whilst we make essential improvements, keep it on your phone and you will be upgraded automatically when it’s ready! Your app on your iOS Apple or Android Smartphone will receive an upgrade and this will happen automatically or manually, depending on your settings. Your loyalty membership account will remain the same

We're currently unable to award Smiles through purchases with our delivery partners. Smiles are earned when purchasing in a Krispy Kreme store, online, via our app or at selected retail partners such as Tesco.

The old website has been shut down, during this time you won’t be able to login. Once we are ready to relaunch and completed the improvements, you will be able to login to your account as usual via the Rewards page on the Krispy Kreme website.

Until we more fully reopen our retail stores unfortunately you won’t be able to login to your account via your old Friends of Krispy Kreme app or website.

Unfortunately we need to disable the app and website account in order to make the changes we need. This means you temporarily won’t see your Rewards for a while until we more fully re-open our retail stores again. We still have all this information in our systems, none of your Rewards will be lost!

We've over 1 million loyalty members and felt it was time to offer a more modern programme that brings our members personalised rewards and more relevant offers. The Krispy Kreme Rewards programme also has a freshly updated mobile app that enables you to get closer to the magic of Krispy Kreme through social interaction and personal content just for members!

Yes – all your unclaimed Rewards that were still within validity dates will be available to claim when we are open again.

The redemption dates will be extended after we reopen and we will make sure you have plenty of time to redeem them.

The minimum age for joining Krispy Kreme Rewards is sixteen years of age. If you join the programme and are not yet 16, we reserve the right to cancel your membership and you will lose all earned rewards.

Rest assured, we have saved all of your Rewards – the info has not been lost – and will ensure you will be able to redeem everything you had available previously, should you choose to do so.

When we more fully reopen our retail stores again, we will relaunch our Rewards programme. At this point, if you have a Friends of Krispy Kreme card, this will work as before and your rewards account number will stay the same. Your app on your iOS Apple or Android smartphone will receive an upgrade - this will happen automatically or manually, depending on your settings.

Once we are in a position to re-open our stores, we will make sure you receive the like-for-like offers that you would have been sent after 23rd March (when shops closed). As with all the offers that will be made available in your Krispy Kreme Rewards account, these will include extended validity dates.

Yes it is possible to redeem your Welcome Reward when you sign up to Krispy Kreme Rewards at participating Tesco stores. When you select to redeem this reward at Tesco, you will be sent a single use link to print your voucher. Please note that this link will only work once so please ensure you have connected to a printer before trying to access.

Coronavirus Questions

Your wellbeing is our top priority - find out what we're doing to protect our customers through the coronovirus crisis

In light of the evolving coronavirus situation, we are no longer accepting re-usable cups but will honour the 20p discount for any who brings in a re usable cup.

We closed our doors in order to review and assess how we could continue to serve our doughnuts in the safest way possible, in light of the current situation. In the last 14 days, we have gradually and successfully opened a total of 17 of our 135 Krispy Kreme stores for drive thru, serving critical service workers only, and for delivery. We now plan to safely open our 9 drive thrus to customers in addition to delivery and open 7 of our 17 stores to both click and collect customers and walk in customers for take away. 1 store, Cardiff, will remain as delivery only at this time. We will be continuing to offer a limited menu of pre-packed doughnuts and drinks for the time being. Our priority is always to protect our staff and customers, and we have put in place a number of new health, safety and social distancing measures in our retail stores which align with all government guidance - more information is on our Serving Safely page. We will continue to monitor the response from customers and Government advice. We will only re-open further stores when we are sure we can do so safely and in line with the social distancing guidance.

In the current evolving coronavirus situation, we are taking the lead in mitigating as much risk as possible for our customers and feel that paper cups in some locations offer the right solution for the current time. We will continue to monitor this situation. We take our responsibility to the environment very seriously and have a rich CSR agenda, within this we are exploring potential partners to help us recycle our paper cups now and in the future.

Our number one priority is always the health and well being of our staff and we are working closely with them at this time and supporting them every step of the way. All Krispy Kreme staff have been fully consulted before returning to work, have volunteered to do so, and have received training on these new measures. Under no circumstances would we make anyone return to work unless they felt confident and comfortable doing so. We are operating with less team members in stores to ensure we keep to the social distancing guidance and are providing face coverings to those who request it. In addition we are encouraging all staff to avoid public transport where possible and travel to work in cars, on foot or bike. Our delivery drivers are following comprehensive health, safety and hygiene practices and will be undertaking only contactless deliveries. We are keeping all Krispy Kreme staff regularly updated through all our communications channels on the steps we are taking to protect and support them at this time.

Staff in our stores practise high standards hand hygiene which includes regular hand-washing every 30 minutes or when required throughout the day. Tongs are used to pick up the doughnuts which are subject to robust in-store cleaning processes cleaned /washed every 3-4 hours or as required due to topping build up. All employees are fully briefed with measures including strict hand washing policies. This remains the best way of protecting staff and customers. Our cabinets are subject to thorough cleaning at the beginning and end of each day. The trays that the doughnuts are displayed on are cleaned and sanitised between each use.

We urge all customers to follow Public Health England’s advice: wash hands frequently with hot water and soap for 20 seconds or use alcohol hand gel, and be aware of safe coughing etiquette. For customers visiting our retail stores we have a new series of health and safety measures in place when collecting their doughnuts. We have social distance markers in our stores, hand sanitiser available for customers and each store has been allocated a maximum capacity. We are only taking contactless payment currently and have provided screens for safety.

The safety of our team members and customers is our No 1 priority, we have taken the decision to make the wearing of, non-medical grade, face masks compulsory at this time. In addition we have installed protective screens at till and at cabinet to offer a protective barrier between staff and customers. We continue to monitor Government advice and FSA guidelines on the use of gloves, masks and visors for food businesses

Our business enforces rigorous handwashing processes to uphold the highest hygiene standards. We have assessed this to be the safest way to manufacture and serve our doughnuts. Since coronavirus has broken we have given all Krispy Kreme team members an additional list of precautions to take, with a focus on health, hygiene and safety which includes washing hands every 20 minutes for 20 seconds.

The NHS have said it is very unlikely that the virus is passed on through food and as of now, there’s no evidence of coronavirus transmission through food. Coronaviruses need a host (animal or human) to grow in and cannot grow in food or drink. Coronaviruses are most commonly passed from person to person.

Our drivers practise high standards of hand hygiene which includes regular hand-washing. In light of the current Coronavirus situation we have re-issued our cleaning guides for drivers and included additional hygiene measures such as the use of disposable gloves and enhanced sanitisation of key vehicle touch-points. We are constantly reviewing the situation based on latest guidance from Public Health England as well as our own internal and external network of specialists. We will continue to explore and develop how we remain at the forefront of health and hygiene for a mobile workforce.

Coronaviruses need a host (animal or human) to grow in and cannot grow in food or drink. Coronaviruses are most commonly passed from person to person.

Drivers do not always have access to hand washing facilities, unlike our retail and manufacturing sites. So disposable gloves are available at these times only.

You could ask to speak to the store manager and advise him/her of your concerns or you can email our customer care team on; [email protected] We would like to reassure customers that all our employees have been advised of the precautions to take in light of the current situation and our health, hygiene and safety measures are comprehensive and firmly embedded across the company.

Temperature checking will identify some people with Covid-19, but it won’t identify people who have the illness and are either asymptomatic or haven’t developed symptoms yet. Therefore in line with current Government and PHE guidelines we are not instigating mandatory temperature checks. We will continue to monitor guidance on this.

Our policy is that tongs should be changed / washed as a minimum every 3-4 hours or as required due to topping build up.

To date we have had a wonderful response to our ‘serving smiles’ initiative, which is our way of saying thank you to critical workers for the amazing work they are doing in the battle against COVID-19. I am delighted to share that we have met our target of serving half a million smiles! We have an ongoing commitment to serve 25,000 smiles a week and are delighted to offer 25% off our entire menu to NHS, fire service and police in-store, running at least until the end of August.

This complimentary offer was for a limited time only and we are delighted to have served over 35,000 Original Glazed doughnuts and drinks to the NHS, fire service and police. We are now offering 25% discount off our entire menu for these key groups to run throughout into August.

Our website and social channels would provide news of any necessary store closures and a guide to where else customers might purchase our products or you can email our customer care team on; [email protected]

We have comprehensive health, hygiene and safety policies which are embedded across the business; therefore, we feel confident we are well-placed in terms of preventative disciplines. However, in light of the evolving situation we have also introduced a number of additional temporary processes around cleaning and sanitisation that provide supplementary robust safeguards. This includes focusing on touch points like tills, card readers and door handles.

In order to ensure we adhere to social distancing guidelines within our manufacturing sites, we are running less lines which means a reduced range initially of 3 Ring doughnuts (Original glazed, Chocolate Sprinkle, Chocolate iced ring). We have now introduced four additional doughnut shells–Raspberry Glazed, Chocolate Dreamcake, Lotus Biscoff and Chocolate Custard. Towards the end of June we hope to expand this range further.

This includes sanitising of frequently used touch points and all areas of the business.

We make our doughnuts across 15 different locations in the UK and they are all in different shapes and sizes. In some locations we have enough space to have a separate nut segregation area whilst adhering to social distancing guidance for the workplace, and therefore can offer this doughnut in some orders but not all at the moment. We are working hard to continue to evolve our manufacturing processes in order to be able to offer nutty chocolatta and a wider range everywhere.

We are aware that we have some Box Stores that currently do not have working hand washing facilities. These are being fixed as a priority. Until these are fixed we are putting temporary measures in place with a 5lt hot water dispenser. The unit is food safe, has no glass within it and is suitable for keeping water at the required temperature for 4 hours.

Staff in our stores practise comprehensive hand hygiene which includes regular hand-washing throughout the day. If they do not have hand-washing facilities in their box store, they are able to access shopping centre/retail outlets own facilities as often as required.

Our trays are only used once. They are collected from each store after use and returned to the manufacturing site. They then go through a robust washing that exceeds 61c and are then sanitised.

ln light of the evolving situation we have taken the decision to halt sampling of our delicious Krispy Kreme doughnuts outside of our store vicinity where we have less control over the external environment. We will continue to monitor this situation and look forward to re introducing sampling in the future.

We are currently accepting contactless payment methods only. We offer click and collect service for those not able to use contactless payment.

Following the governments update in regards to face masks and their aid in the prevention of spreading Covid-19, we will be implementing the wearing of face masks for all retail employees. Although the guidance was optional we feel that the only way to give maximum support would be to implement for all.

We have taken the decision to temporarily reduce our doughnut range from 16 doughnuts to 7 doughnuts (8 in some locations). We make all of our doughnuts fresh everyday across 14 sites and to remove some of the complexity on our manufacturing teams we have temporarily streamlined our range. We plan to reintroduce more of our range towards the end of June if we feel it is safe to do so.

We have taken the decision to temporarily reduce our doughnut range from 16 doughnuts to 7 doughnuts (8 in some locations), in order to simplify our operation. We have tried to keep our most popular doughnuts in the range along with our limited editions but you may not be able to find your favourite doughnut in store today. We plan to reintroduce more of our range as soon as we feel it is safe to do so, however, in the mean time we suggest that you ask one of our Krispy Kreme team to make a recommendation based on what you normally buy.

We have taken the decision to temporarily reduce our doughnut range from 16 doughnut varieties (or 12 in Tesco) to 7 doughnuts (8 in some locations). We haven’t done this to save money but to reduce complexity on our manufacturing teams, who make all of our doughnuts fresh everyday across 14 sites.

We want to encourage customers to follow the latest Government guidance on social distancing. We believe this is the safest and most responsible way to continue to provide our doughnuts and drinks to customers.

We are following all the government and public health authorities advice for business around coronavirus (COVID-19). We would like to reassure customers that all our employees have been advised of the precautions to take in light of the current situation and our health, hygiene and safety measures are comprehensive and firmly embedded across the company.

The majority of our cabinets in stores such as Tesco are only offering pre-packed doughnuts currently. We understand that customer choice is a big reason that people come to Krispy Kreme and so we will start testing unpackaged single doughnuts in a small number of stores from 18th May. We will continue to offer prepacked choices within these test stores and we are also increasing the presence of our patisserie paper for customers to use to select their doughnuts. Our doughnuts are protected behind glass doors so are not exposed to the environment around them. We follow the highest standards of cabinet cleaning and sanitation when refilling the units. We would ask all customers to always wash their hands with soap and water for 20 seconds or use alcohol gel before eating, as per Government advice.

In light of the current Coronavirus situation we have re-issued our cleaning guides for drivers and included additional hygiene measures such as the use of disposable gloves and enhanced sanitisation of key vehicle touch-points. However, in light of the evolving situation we have introduced a number of additional temporary processes around cleaning and sanitisation that provide supplementary robust safeguards. We have shared updated guidance to our drivers on cabinet cleanliness and hand-washing, including additional sanitisation of vehicles. We would urge consumers to follow Public Health England’s advice: wash hands frequently with hot water and soap for 20 seconds or use alcohol hand gel.

Please be aware that some of our products do contain peanuts and other nuts. These are clearly labelled in store and on our website. All our doughnuts therefore do carry a risk that they may contain nuts and are therefore not suitable for nut and peanut allergy sufferers due to manufacturing methods.

Krispy Kreme uses 100% cage free, free range eggs in the UK.

Krispy Kreme doughnuts are always made fresh daily and best enjoyed on day of purchase. There's nothing quite like a warm OG, so we'd say that fridge stored doughnuts will never taste as good!

Action on Modern Slavery We appreciate the importance of taking action to combat all aspects of modern slavery. Krispy Kreme has HR policies to ensure compliance with relevant legislation concerning rights at work. We are also working on a new IT system to further strengthen our auditing capability in this area. Additionally, no person below the minimum legal age shall be employed and no one under the age of 18 will be employed where specific workplace conditions apply (nightshift, machinery).

We have a goal of halving the plastic in our business by 2025. We have already made positive steps in this area targeting Reduce, Reuse and Replace initiatives and we will continue to build on this momentum. In 2020 we will remove 20 tonnes of plastic from our business. In 2019 we have replaced 1.6 million plastic straws with recyclable paper straws, saving 6 tonnes of plastic. In 2020 we will replace our plastic cups for milkshakes and chillers and move to a paper format, saving 11 tonnes of plastic. We will also be launching new cup lids that are made from 30% recycled material.

We are proud that our doughnuts are made fresh daily to ensure we give our customers the high quality experience that they expect from Krispy Kreme. We use sophisticated demand planning tools to try to reduce the occurrence of waste, targeting a 5% waste reduction across our cabinet business. At the majority of our sites any unsold or unacceptable quality doughnuts are recycled by Leafield Feeds Ltd to be used as a component of animal feed. 25% of our company food waste is sent for Anaerobic Digestion and converted into bio-fuel and overall 94% of our food waste is diverted from landfill.

Our global FUNdraising programme has been at the heart of our business since day one and has been helping the nation fundraise since 2003. The FUNdraising programme offers discounted dozens for charities, community groups and individuals, making it easy for them to sell our Original Glazed doughnuts and make money for causes close to their hearts. Over the last sixteen years, we have provided 700,000 Dozen boxes to help the nation fundraise. Since 2016, we have been delighted to support Teenager Cancer Trust Support, raising over £150,000 for this incredible charity. This amount funds 5,000-6,000 hours of specialist care from either a Teenage Cancer Trust nurse or Youth Support Coordinator, helping to treat and support young people dealing with cancer. In 2018 and 2019, we joined forces with BBC Children in Need to raise £50,000. This was achieved through Krispy Kremers fundraising across the country, creating Pudsey doughnuts (where a % went directly to the charity), and selling fundraising boxes to help the nation to raise money.

Our people are at the heart of our communities and we encourage them to build relationships with local charities. Krispy Kreme Area Managers are the charity champions for their regions and are responsible for ‘Love Your Community’ calendars which communicate and drive fundraising through our stores. The area and store with the highest funds raised will be recognised at our Company Conference with a “Love your Community” Award. During the Corona pandemic we created a pledge to serve half a million smiles (or doughnuts!) to good causes which we achieved on 18th May. We plan to continue this good work we pledge to serve a million smiles per year through doughnut donations, our new volunteer scheme and discounts off our menus for NHS, police and firefighter personnel.
